Stanworth Market Update 2/20/2012

I have mentioned in other posts that the 1970’s brought quite a bit of building into the Cedar City Real Estate Market.  The Stanworth subdivision is another of those late 1960’s to early 1970’s subdivisions.  It was built in a time when most of the homes being built were built as brick homes.

The Stanworth Subdivision is also near Cedar High School, it is actually between South Elementary and Cedar High School.  This is another subdivision with several brick homes.  It was built in the early to mid 1970′s.

Currently there are no homes listed for sale on our Multiple Listing Service in the Stanworth Subdivision.  This is another stable subdivision.  It is quiet, being a street or two removed from the heavier trafficked surface streets.

Market Update 2/20/2012:  There are currently no homes listed for sale in the Multiple Listing Service.  In the past 12 months there has been 1 home sell.  It sold for $176,100.  There are currently no building lots for sale in the Stanworth Subdivision.

This is another of those stable, quiet subdivisions in the Cedar City Real Estate Market.

Jefferson Park Market Update 2/20/2012

The Cedar City Real Estate Market has some very desirable subdivisions to live in.  Jefferson Park is one of these, it is built of executive homes that are definitely move up or even the Mc Mansion type homes.   This subdivision has some of the nicest homes in Cedar City.  It is located West of Cedar High School

The one home listed our Multiple Listing Service is a move up home listed at $199,900.  This is another stable subdivision, where homes don’t often come up for sale here.

Market Update 2/20/2012:  There is currently 1 home listed for sale in the Multiple Listing Service.  It is listed for sale at $294,900.  In the past 12 months there have been 3 homes sell. They sold in the price range of $164,000 to $205,350.  There are currently no building lots for sale in the Jefferson Park Subdivision.

Jefferson Park is still one of the most desirable subdivisions in the Cedar City Real Estate Market.  When you see the photos of some of the houses, you too will see why Jefferson Park is such a desirable area!

365 Things to Do Around Cedar City…President’s Day…

Well it is a great day to hit the slopes!  We got several new inches of powder yesterday and it is President’s Day, so some of you have the time to go and get in some runs at Brian Head.  As far as planned activities go tonight there are a couple on the schedule.

There is the Lincoln Day Dinner, this will be held at Cedar Middle at 6 PM.  The cost is $20 per person and tickets are available at the USU Extension Office or at the Market Grill.

The Southern Utah Watercolor Society is meeting from 5:30 to 8 PM at the Iron County Visitor Center in Cedar City.  Debbie Robb will be doing a demonstration on how to achieve textural elements in watercolors.  Admission is free.

Tomorrow night ist the Tournees Film Festival at the Sharwan Smith Center at SUU.  This is at 7 PM and the films are in French with English subtitles.

There will also be a car seat safety class at the Southwest Utah Public Health Department.  This will be at 5:30 PM, please call 435-865-5151 to pre-register.

The Library in the Park is hosting Story Time at 6:30 PM.  This is provided by SUU students and is free.

On Wednesday there is the Ash Wednesday Observance at Noon and 7 PM at the St. Jude’s Episcopal Church.

There is also a Tae Kwon Do Class benefitting the Canyon Creek Women’s Crisis Center.  This will take place at the Aquatic Center between 7 and 8:30 PM.  The cost is $25 per month for everyone over 5 years of age.

There is another Story Time at the Library in the Park.  This will be between 10 and 10:30 AM and is free.

Pinewood Park Market Update 2/17/2012

My purpose in writing about the subdivisions in the Cedar City area is to let people who are considering buying a house in Cedar City know what they can expect to find in The Cedar City Real Estate Market.

Pinewood Park is a stable subdivision, currently there are no homes for sale in our Multiple Listing Service in Pinewood Park.  This is a subdivision that is still very desirable to first time home buyers, especially those with families.

Pinewood Park is located near the Juniper Haven and Palmer Plus Subdivisions that I blogged on last week.  Pinewood Park was built in the late 1970′s, and has a nice blend of homes from ranch styled homes to some modern style and even a few manufactured homes.  It is a subdivision with mature landscaping.

For those looking to buy this subdivision, if it had any homes listed, right now would sell in the $109 to the $145K range typically.  There may be exception to that, but of the 3 homes that have sold there in past little while, that is the range.  Like I said, this is a great place to raise a family, it is near shopping and not too far from schools.

Market Update 2/17/2012:  There is currently one home listed for sale in the Multiple Listing Service.  It is listed at $114,900.  In the past 12 months there has been 1 home sell.  It sold for $145,000.  There are no building lots for sale in the Pinewood Park Subdivision.  This really is one of the great established neighborhoods in the Cedar City Real Estate Market.

Serenity Hills Market Update 2/17/2012

Serenity Hills is another of  the great areas in the Cedar City Real Estate Market.  Serenity Hills is one of our exlusive type subdivisions, these are some of the Mc Mansion type homes with amazing city views.  It was started in the 1990′s, but there are still several amazing view lots for sale, so you could build your own dream home if you desired to do so.

There is currently one home listed in our MLS at $489,500.  the home that is listed has 5,500 square feet of finished living space including the basement.

Market Update 10/31/2011.  There are currently no houses listed for sale in The Serenity Hills Subdivision.  There are currently 3 lots for sale in the Serenity Hills subdivision, all three are listed at $55,000 each.  These are .3 of acre lots, so they are a nice sized lot.  Serenity Hills is really a great asset in the Cedar City Real Estate Market.  This really is a great subdivision, it has some amazing views.

Market Update 2/17/2012:  There are currently no houses listed for sale in the Multiple Listing Service.  In the past 12 months there have been no homes sell in Serenity Hills.  There are currently 3 building lots listed for sale.  The three lots are priced at $43,900 for .3 acre building lots.  As I have mentioned before, this is one of the great subdivisions in the Cedar City Real Estate Market.

Cedarwood Terrace Market Update

Cedarwood Terrace is another of subdivisions that were built in the Cedar City Real Estate Market in the 1960’s and 70’s.  It is located near Cedar High School just off of 300 West.  Most of the homes are brick or have a lot of brick in them.  I have heard the style described as the Atomic Ranch House.  It is a neighborhood that is centrally located in Cedar City.

This is another really stable subdivision, there is currently only one home listed for sale in Cedar City.  It is listed at $240,000, it has approximately 1640 Square feet on the main and a fully finished basement of the same size. These are 1/4 acre lots.  It is another really nice area, close to everything!

Market Update 2/16/2012:  There are currently no homes listed for sale in the Multiple Listing Service.  There have been no homes sell in the past 12 months.  Cedarwood Terrace is really one of the more stable subdivisions in the Cedar City Real Estate Market.

365 Things to Do Around Cedar City…Send in the Band….

This week has sort of gotten away from me!  It is already Thursday afternoon and I still haven’t gotten this post done!  Tomorrow Friday February 17th the SUU Wind Symphony  Concert will be at 7:30 PM at the Heritage Center.  They will perform Souza’s “The Thunderer,” and more.  The tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for SUU faculty and staff, and $3 for students.

On Saturday, the National Federation of the Blind Iron County Chapter will meet at the Library in the Park at noon.  This meeting is for anyone interested in furthering independence and opportunities for the visually impaired.  For more information call Tara Lamoreaux at 435-867-8904.

There is also the High School Honor Band Concert.  This is at the Heritage Center at 6:30 PM, admission is free.

Kayenta…Market Update 2/16/2012

The Kayenta Subdivision is another of the older subdivisions in The Cedar City Real Estate Market.  It was built in the early to mid 1960′s.  It is just West of South Elementary School.  Kayenta is a quiet neighborhood with large starter or move up sized homes.  There is some nice, mature landscaping in this subdivision.  It is still centrally located in Cedar City, not far from anything.

There is currently one home listed for sale in our Multiple Listing Service at $149,900.  This particular home is approximately 1000 square feet on the main level with the same sized fully finished basement.

Market Update 2/16/2012:  There are currently no homes listed for sale in the Multiple Listing Service.  In the past 12 months 2 homes have sold in the Kayenta Subdivision.  One sold at $115,000 and the other at $122,000.  There are no building lots listed for sale currently.

365 Things to Do Around Cedar City…Fight Like a Girl……

We have had some weeks with very few activities planned, but it looks like we’re starting to see some good movement in the planning of fun activities.  This post covers from tonight (Monday 2/13/2012) through Wednesday.  So have fun!

There is one really cool activity planned tonight.  It is Fight Like a Girl.  This is a benefit for 4 different pediatric patients.  The activity is at 7 PM at the Heritage Center (105 N 100 East).  Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children under 8 at the door.  If you buy your tickets early they are $5.  For more information you can email: crystal_cardon@hotmail.com or by calling 435-233-0229.

Tomorrow night there is the Story Time in the Library at the Park (303 North 100 East), this will be at 6:30 PM and is provided by students at SUU.

Cove Ridge Market Update 2/13/2012

The Cedar City Real Estate Market has some great smaller subdivisions.  Cove Ridge is one of those, it doesn’t have a lot homes, but the homes that are there are really nice ones.  Cove Ridge is staying in the same general area of town as the two Black Rock Subdivisions.  Cove Ridge is comprised of what I would call move up style homes. Cove Ridge is a subdivision that is still relatively new, and is a nice area with some great mountain views.

This is a very nice subdivision built in the early 2000′s. There is currently 1 home listed for sale on our MLS in the Cove Ridge Subdivision for $249,900.

Market Update 2/13/2012:  There are currently no homes listed in the Multiple Listing Services.  In the past 12 months there have been 2 homes sell.  One home sold at $114,000 and the other sold at $178,500.  There are currently no building lots for sale.

Cove Ridge really is a great asset in the Cedar City Real Estate Market, it is in a prime location with some great homes!
